An Ode to the Spring
I clung on to cosy winters,
The shrivel beneath my feet and the chill air,
it seemed like I fell in love with the numbness around me,
almost grey,
almost dead,
like it was meant to be that way.
little did I know, somewhere on the inside,
a part of me wanted to feel alive.
and then you swayed in,
like a miracle,
you were beautiful,
you were hope,
you were the beginning of the rains,
you were the blossom of daffodils,
you were everything I ever wanted,
but you didn't last long,
and now that you've passed,
here I am, reminiscing memories with bonfires of every colour I've seen in you,
here I am,
awaiting the winter,
almost grey,
almost dead.
