Guppy

That poor little guy you say?
he's just a fish in the water
Locked away in a glass jar
in a world within the world. 
Well, he sees
through the periscope-like-globule 
he'll watch you closely
hear you out but, 
sometimes
just sometimes,
you'd wish to hear him
and know him deeper.
when time finds him
you'll see him nip his artwork
onto his glass jar; his world
like no one's ever watching. 
when the night falls, 
he's awake like fireflies 
either nipping onto his glass jar 
or in slumber; half awake.
No wonder they call him a rainbow fish
intriguing at first but
calm and colourful inside out. 
That poor little guy you say?
he isn't JUST a fish in the water.
